Empowering users to reset password and unlock accounts
Some of the most common tasks that an IT Help Desk faces include resetting user passwords and unlocking locked user accounts. Opening a trouble ticket and documenting the incident takes longer than the actual task of fixing the problem. And this wastes skilled help desk personnel time performing menial tasks.
Our Ithicos Solutions Directory Manager product includes password reset, account unlock, and account disable features that enable an authorized (non-admin) user to perform these functions through a simple web interface. Human resources, an administrative assistant, or department manager can be authorized to perform these tasks so that your users can get back to work more quickly.
If enabled, the Account Management page allows an authorized user to unlock a locked user account, enable or disable user accounts, or set an account expiration date. Each of these options can be hidden if not needed.
The Directory Manager Password Management tab (if enabled) enables an authorized user to reset the user’s password. Your existing Active Directory password security policies are honored. For both password resets and account unlocks, Directory Manager logs activity to a CSV audit log and email notifications can be sent to the user, user’s manager, and/or a pre-defined email address.
Ithicos Solutions’ Directory Update product allows an end user to change their password if they know their current password. When used with Directory Update, our Directory Password add-on allows a user to reset their password if they have forgotten it or unlock their own account if they have locked it.
